THE TIME I GAVE UP

In my final semester, there was this exam that almost broke me (critics will say the exam broke me even). This exam was undoubtedly the toughest exam of my undergraduate degree. This was not because the exam was the hardest exam (the exam was difficult but I don't think it was the hardest) I had ever taken or because I prepared the least for this exam (I started preparing like 24 hours before like I did for most of my exams in that year and semester so that wasn't the case). Here's what happened. It was a cold morning at around 8 a.m., we had this exam, BFN 425 - Quantitative Analysis for Financial Decision. For most of the semester, I was totally clueless as to what was going on in the class. We didn't write any structured test so I never really had a reason to study the course before the exam. The 1st and 2nd tests were classwork and assignment  respectively.   That morning, I was walking into the exam with less than 24 hours of study time and a few h

REGRETS

Last year July, I received an internship offer from Citi bank Lagos to do a 3-week internship with them after a very rigorous application process. This was by far a very great opportunity for me, talking about the experience, networking, the opportunity to put a big name on my CV and not to mention the mouth-watering 6 - figure salary I heard interns get paid 💰. But guess what friends, I turned it down. When I told the friend that gave me the link to apply that I didn't take the offer, he thought amongst other things that I was crazy and making a huge mistake 😅. But was I? I didn't think I was in the moment I was making the decision. Why didn't I take the offer you might be wondering... well the reason was pretty simple. I had another internship offer from the Africa Export and Import Bank (AFREXIM) in Egypt at the time and I thought the internship might start sometime before or during the Citi gig or the preparation for that internship (visa interviews and all)

CHAPTER 20

Growing up, going to school, I was always the youngest in my class, the only time I wasn't the youngest in my class was when I entered university, I was still one of the youngest, just not the youngest of the bunch. For some reason, I was never intimidated by the older kids, safe to say I intimidated quite a few of them myself 😉. Being a bully, manipulator and other seemingly nasty things Kachi would like to call me 😂. I remember when I got into the school that I would go on to complete my primary school education. I was to enter KG 3 at the time but for whatever reason, they couldn't admit me to that class so I had to repeat KG 2 and then move to KG 3. I was still the youngest in my class. Ended up finishing primary school as the best in my class. 1st position back to back from primary 3 3rd term to primary 4 3rd term. Yes! You read that right, I did not do primary 5 o
