CHILL

I’m not one of those people that remove their seat belts and stand up on a plane as soon as a plane touches the runway for landing. I’m that chill šŸ˜…

Especially now in the time of COVIK when they ask people to move row by row. I always look at the people that stand immediately in awe cos WHYYYYY šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚  are you scared that blood will stop flowing to your legs? What is this?

You still have to wait if you’re not sitting in the front row so chill for God’s sake šŸ˜‚

In fact, for my 1st ever flight, I was with my mum, she made me wait on the plane till everyone got off, then we went to say hi to the pilots, the entire cabin crew etc. there’s hardly any rush for these things.

I understand the rush for international flights though. You have to go through immigration and the difference between the 1st off a plane and the last can be almost 2 hours especially if it’s a big plane that’s full.

But people that do this for local flights get me every time šŸ˜‚  I’m like, we’re all going to the same baggage claim. The bags don’t come out in the order of how we came out the plane. Sometimes 1st class peeps don’t even get their bags before those in economy so again CHILL šŸ˜‚

Except, of course, you didn’t check in any bag and you’re in a hurry for a meeting or to catch another flight or something else.

Now that I take trains & buses every now and then, I see the same thing.

The moment the PA system announces that the next stop is where some people are going, they immediately ARISE as if dem be O’COMPATRIOTS

I find this especially hilarious because of the way trains & buses stop (here in the UK). When the train finally stops, there’s a kick/nudge that shakes the entire train/bus so if you’re not holding on to something, you can legit fall if your leg no too strong for ground.

And more importantly, if you sat where you were, you have more than enough time to ARISE after the train/bus comes to a full stop and move out of the train before the doors close and the train goes on its merry way. But anyway… it’s one of those things I suppose šŸ˜…

What’s the point of this blog post?

To encourage you to CHILL sometimes šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚ not every time gragra

There isn’t always a rush. I’d argue that there often isn't. Even Dominic Torreto no too dey rush. Why are you running? And sometimes, when we end up getting to where we were rushing to, we realize we earlier than NEEDED so the whole rush wasn’t even necessary. Ko necesstry rara. We just got ourselves worked up for no reason.

So here’s your reminder to cool down for Jesus šŸ˜…

I'M MOVING TO AUSTRALIA šŸ„³šŸŽ‰šŸŽ‰

I’m moving…. AGAIN? Call me Kwaku the traveller cos I do be travelling… but not this time. I’m actually moving. By now, most (if not everyone) reading this blog knows I've moved to Sydney, Australia. When I first posted about arriving in Australia on WhatsApp, I think some people thought I was just visiting Australia because I have been travelling A LOT this year. In just 9 months of this year, I've been to 6 countries, including Singapore and Australia, which is A LOT! If you didn't already figure it out, the reason I was travelling like a headless chicken in summer was because I sorta knew I was leaving the UK. So I wanted to get the most out of that location proximity and visa while I could. Few people fully understand how and why I made the move, and posting this on Twitter revealed this very jarringly. Especially since the tweet referenced me having worked in Cairo, London and now Sydney all by the --- very ripe (I quickly rued my choice of "very ripe age" a...

THE FEAR OF LONELINESS

Walking down the street without a companion, sitting at a restaurant table for two alone, staying at home with no one to hang out with on a Friday night. Thoughts like these normally come to mind when we hear the word 'loneliness' and thus we can easily say we aren't lonely because we are always in the company of friends and family and even when we're on our own, we aren't truly alone because we have our devices that connect us to thousands of people at virtually a push of a button... If only loneliness was that simple 😩.  True loneliness lies in being surrounded by people of similar tastes and preferences and still feeling alone. True loneliness resides in having to hide parts of who you are and things you feel just to fit in. True loneliness is being accepted for who you are not! True loneliness is... being unique but having to act like everyone else šŸ˜”. Personally, I've had my share of lonely moments but I won't be talking about myse...

THE CRISIS OF URGENCY

This generation, my generation is so concerned with getting rich and doing it early. We want to make it big, we want to 'blow' and we want to do it NOW or at least some time really soon. This urge gets ignited all the more when we see and hear people achieving this at really young ages. We see the likes of Evan Spiegel, Co-founder and CEO of Snap Inc. (originally called Snapchat Inc.) with a net worth of $4.3 billion currently 27 years old; Bobby Murphy, Co-founder and CTO of Snap Inc. with a net worth of $3.2 billion currently 29 years old and of course,  the youngest billionaires in the world, the Norwegian heiresses Alexandra and Katharina Andresen, who are 21 and 22 years old, respectively. With large inheritances of $1.4 billion each. Occasionally, we wish to be like the Norwegian heiresses, get born into fortune and have large inheritances to pull out of it so you don't have to work a day in your life 😁. However, seeing as we can't change ...
